Towsley Center for Continuing Medical Education
The Towsley Center for Continuing Medical Education is a 26,200-square-foot conference center and office building that hosts more than 500 events each year. The Towsley Center offers a wide selection of meeting spaces:
Dow Auditorium seats 415 with permanent theatre-style seating. It contains a built-in stage and booth for either slide or LCD projection. The stage podium contains a computer system with Internet capability and remote controls for presenter-operated projection. Audiovisual technicians are required.

The Towsley Lobby has more than 3,500 square feet of exhibit and reception space with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the UMHS medical center. The lobby can accommodate receptions for up to 300 people, and meals for approximately 120 people.
The Towsley Dining Room has existing tables and chairs that can accommodate up to 140 people comfortably for meetings and meals. The dining room can be divided into rooms seating groups of 40 and 100.
Catering Any caterer can be used for events within the Towsley Center; however, customers will need to work directly with their own caterers and outside vendors to arrange, set-up and tear down tables and linens, chairs, food and beverages. Equipment The Towsley Center has tables and chairs available that can be used for sitdown meals for up to 80 people.
Additional Services Customers will contract for their own audiovisual projectionist and, depending on the time of the event, there may be staff and custodial charges.
Cancellations Cancellations made three or more working days (more than 48 hours) prior to the event are not charged and any deposit will be fully refunded. Cancellations made within 48 hours before the event will be subject to charges up to 100 percent.
- Eating and drinking are not allowed in Dow or Sheldon auditoriums.
- No alcoholic beverages may be served or consumed in the Towsley Center.
- The Dean of the Medical School may approve exceptions.
